MACAM - Lisboa
Synopsis
MACAM, Armando Martins Museum of Contemporary Art, opens to the world the collection of modern Portuguese art and national and international contemporary art that collector Armando Martins started in 1974 and continues to develop.
In addition to the permanent exhibition of the collection, MACAM presents other collections and temporary exhibitions to its visitors and a parallel program of conferences and meetings that promotes reflection around the exhibitions.
This museum space has an innovative concept: The House of the Private Collections. A house where the private becomes public, to receive and present other private collections, but also to welcome visitors in every sense, including the most literal of the term.
